The TODD BRIDGES YOUTH FOUNDATION / PRODIGAL YOUTH RECOVERY PROGRAM of Southern California was founded by Actor Todd Bridges along with his Pastor, Ernest Johnson in the inner-city of Compton, Ca. as a response to the community crisis caused by the civil unrest in Los Angeles County after the Rodney King Verdicts, to provide much needed assistantance to disadvantaged youth and their families. The foundation provided a safe haven youth center, after school programs, field trips, tutoring, summer and year round employment, drama and television production classes free of charge and student advocacy.
